A Kind Of Mixed-Up Nonlinear Existential Grocery List: or leftover alphabet soup with only a couple letters left

by Joseph D. Reich

where does the crossing guard go when she’s good and gone
and gone home and vanishes into thin air almost like the opposite
of our (or descarte’s proof or non-proof) belief in god based on
i know he’s there or exists because every time i think of him
i can just feel it get so sick of it out here in this here united
states of america how we’re so obsessed and care so much
about how a president’s gonna get rated or judged or when
we look back at him his legacy (i mean can we really objectify
or compare abraham lincoln to woodrow wilson to theodore roosevelt
to john f. kennedy?) as opposed to what they really do (or sincerely
try to do) when in desperate need and feeling collectively blue
(yeah i’d call that something like a great depression) sort of
like that old cliché of “a friend in need is a friend indeed”
so getting back to the notion and image (religion or non-
religion) of what happens to the crossing guard when
she’s good and gone and gone home and vanishes
into thin air or our or descarte’s belief in god

there are just some mathematical equations
in my opinion better left alone and unsolved.
