John Guzlowski

John Guzlowski’s writing appears in Garrison Keillor’s Writers’ Almanac, North American Review, The Ontario Review, Salon.com, The Drunken Boat,Exquisite Corpse, Atlanta Review, Crab Orchard Review, Mississippi Review, Rattle, Atticus Review, Manhattan Review, and other print and online journals here and abroad. The poems in his book Language of Mules won the $7500 Illinois Arts Council Poetry Award in 2001. He has been nominated for six Pushcart Prizes.

Czeslaw Milosz, in a review of one of John’s books about his parents and their experiences in WWII, said his writing “astonished” him and that he had “an enormous ability for grasping reality.”
